Online Influencer Targeted in Violent Home Invasion

An online content creator and OnlyFans personality recently reported a terrifying encounter where armed intruders allegedly invaded her home in Houston, Texas. The assailants reportedly assaulted her and demanded access to her cryptocurrency accounts. A representative from the Houston Police Department confirmed the incident and noted that as of Tuesday morning, no arrests had been made, and the inquiry is ongoing.

Inquiries into Crypto Holdings Sparked by Online Post

Kaitlyn Siragusa, 31, a well-known figure in the online world under the alias Amouranth, previously asked her 3.8 million followers on X, formerly Twitter, for advice on managing her substantial Bitcoin investments, which she claimed exceeded $20 million. The Independent reached out to Siragusa for comments regarding the recent incident, but she did not respond.

Panic During Home Invasion

On Sunday night, Siragusa shared a distressing message on X stating, “I’m… being robbed at gunpoint,” emphasizing the seriousness of her plea. She later elaborated that she was in bed when the armed men broke in, firing shots at her bedroom door before kicking it down. During the invasion, they allegedly forced her to log into her cryptocurrency account, leading her to post on social media instead of contacting emergency services, fearing for her life.

Evidence Captured on Doorbell Camera

Footage from her doorbell camera showed three individuals entering her expansive home, only to flee shortly after. The video reportedly captured the sounds of gunfire as her husband attempted to defend them, striking one of the intruders, according to a local NBC news report. Siragusa recounted the brutal physical assault she endured, stating, “They beat me before this video and pistol whipped me,” and described her efforts to shield her head while blood streamed down her face.

Law Enforcement Responds

In a later post, Siragusa updated her followers, indicating that law enforcement had arrived, assuring them, “SWAT here now I’m safe.” Fortunately, reports indicate that the intruders left the scene without stealing anything.

Community Encouraged to Assist in Investigation

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of $5,000 for information that could lead to the apprehension of those responsible for the attempted robbery. The trend of armed robberies targeting cryptocurrency holders has surged recently, with previous cases including a 76-year-old man in North Carolina who was held hostage by individuals masquerading as utility workers, showing the lengths criminals will go to access digital assets. In a troubling incident from 2021, Siragusa’s home was also the target of a suspected arson attack.
